We're going green! In an effort to keep the cost of the book down and save a few trees, Killer Camera Rigs That You Can Build will only be available in PDF form as an ebook. We had to make kind of a big choice around here; as the last print run was running low, we had to make a choice of raising the price of the book or offering an electronic edition. The cost of paper has gone through the roof, not to mention the cost of shipping a couple of tons of finished books to our offices in Los Angeles from the printers in midwest. This would have raised the cost of Killer Camera Rigs north of the $50 mark. Lord knows we are about saving filmmaker's money around here, so that just didn't seem like a good option. We are currently working on the 3rd edition of Killer Camera Rigs that will have a bunch on new stuff, so the cost might be slightly higher for even the ebook version, but if you order the 2nd edition now we'll send you the 3rd edition for FREE. Here some questions I'm sure we'll be asked about the ebook version:
Can I print the book? Of course you can! In fact, I think this is a better option than the print version because you'll be able to print out, say, the materials list and take it along with you to the hardware store without having to haul around the entire book.
Are the photos in color? Yes and no. We are working on the 3rd edition which should be ready in a couple of months. All the photos in the third edition will be in color. If you order the 2nd edition now, you'll get the third edition sent to you ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! The 2nd edition that is currently available has B&W photos. Don't wait! Again, order the 2nd edition and get the COLOR 3rd edition FREE FREE FREE!
Is is available as a download? No, and here's why: We've tried to find a company that would allow you to download the book, but because Killer Camera Rigs has 344 pages of 1,334 step-by-step photos, the file size is HUGE. Most companies limit the file size to 10mb for a download. We are so far beyond that, it's not even funny. So we'll have to send you the book on disk. Sorry about that. We'll keep trying to find a company that will allow a huge file for download.
